Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Anja Maria Wagemans has held the Chair of Food Engineering at TU Dresden’s Institute of Natural Materials Technology since March 2024. Her research focuses on process–structure–property relationships in food biopolymers, driving plant- and microbial-based alternatives through innovative food process engineering and zero-waste concepts. Together with her team, she has received several teaching and research awards, including the 2022 Berlin Science Award – Young Investigator Award for her work on alternative food products. She earned her PhD in Food Material Science from the University of Hohenheim (2015) and previously held a junior professorship in Food Biosciences at TU Berlin.
